\u201cHealthy.Together.Living. in Kleinpaschleben\u201d: Successful project completion for consortium partner Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Within the framework of the NEB project \u201cHealthy.Together.Living. in Kleinpaschleben\u201d, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences has laid the groundwork for the sustainable reuse of the former primary school. This was the key conclusion of the on-site meeting on 13 February 2026. Over the next two years, the 1950s building will be converted into a \u201cfamily centre\u201d in line with the NEB CRITERIA BEAUTIFUL. SUSTAINABLE. TOGETHER. One year of joint work lies behind the NEB consortium partners, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and the municipality of Osternienburger Land. The results were presented to around 60 guests, including a review of the numerous active citizen workshops, accompanied by the NEB NETWORK OFFICE.\n\nMany people from Kleinpaschleben attended to witness this project milestone. There was broad agreement that the NEB PROCESS had inspired everyone involved: the local community as well as the participating students, planners, institutions and public authorities. It broadened perspectives on all sides and created an excellent foundation for the success of this ambitious project. Through its student design proposals, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences not only enriched the intensive exchange with residents, but also contributed successfully by providing project knowledge, ensuring compliance with the NEB CRITERIA during the design phase, and closely supporting the public procurement procedures. As stated in the final report, \u201cthe greatest impact\u201d lay in the \u201cconceptualisation, implementation and continuation of the diverse participatory activities\u201d, in which \u201cmany interested people of all generations from Kleinpaschleben contributed to the realisation of the first visible signs of the transformation of the school site\u201d. In the end, a concept is now available that demonstrates in a transferable way how vacant school buildings and their open spaces can be revitalised in an economically, ecologically and socially sustainable manner and developed together with the user community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 122-page final report \u201cFrom a School to a House for All\u201d was handed over to Mayor Torsten Lorenz by Prof. Nadja H\u00e4upl (Department of Architecture, Facility Management and Geoinformation) and Prof. Dr Nicole Uhrig (Department of Agriculture, Ecotrophology and Landscape Development), together with sincere thanks for the \u201copenness, commitment and constructive cooperation\u201d. Funding of \u20ac300,000 from the European JTF (Just Transition Fund) has, since February 2025, enabled a model student real-world design laboratory with supra-regional impact, preceded by a conceptual \u201cphase 0\u201d for planning. \u201cHealthy.Together.Living. in Kleinpaschleben\u201d received this funding as part of the state initiative of Saxony-Anhalt \u201cTogether for a New European Bauhaus (NEB) \u2013 NeueBauh\u00e4usler\u201d. The goal of sustainably transforming the approximately 16,000 m\u00b2 site, including the school building and adjacent open spaces, into a forward-looking centre for all generations in Kleinpaschleben is now entering the implementation phase. In the second part of the event, architect Peter Weber of the commissioned consortium ARGE ATELIER.SCHMELZER.WEBER\/AHOLA presented the current plans. In the further course of the project, the measure will be supported by federal and state funding from Saxony-Anhalt under the Investment Act for Coal Regions (InvKG). The total investment volume amounts to \u20ac5 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
